This is a common question that we meet so it is better to explain it so that many people especially mothers may recognize the development of their babies while are pregnants.
The test may be preliminary especially week of 26 or when the time seems to pass(overdue) starting 41 to 42 weeks. So far the common tastes include:-
1.AT-HOME FETAL MOVEMENT ASSESSMENT. A mother's record of fetal movements, though not foolproof, can provide some indication of how her baby is doing, and can be used to screen for possible problems.
2.THE NONSTRESS TEST (NST).The mother is hooked up to the fetal monitor just as she would be if she were in labor, and the response of the fetal heart to fetal movements is observed. If,during the nonstress test, the heart rate doesn't react to movement or the baby doesn't move at all,or if other signs of a problem are noted, the results are considered nonreassuring(which doesn't mean the fetus is in distress, only that its condition needs further evaluation).
3.FETAL ACOUSTICAL STIMULATION (FAS) OR VIBRO-ACOUSTIC STIMULATION(VAS).This nonstress test ,in which a sound-and-vibration-producing instrument is placed on the mother's abdomen to determine the fetus's response to sound or vibrations, has been found to be more accurate than traditional nonstress tests and is useful in evaluating the results of other tests.
4.A BIOPHYSICAL PROFILE (BPP).A BPP generally evaluates, through the use of ultrasound, four aspects of life in the uterus:fetal breathing, fetal movement, fetal tone, and amniotic fluid volume. When all these are normal, the baby is probably doing fine.
5.UMBILICAL ARTERY DOPPLER VELOCIMETRY.This noninvasive ultrasound test looks at the flow of blood through the umbilical artery.A weak, absent,or reverse flow indicates the fetus is not getting adequate nourishment and is probably not growing well.
There more than these ,stay tune I gonna write them.
